Dose rates CAN NOT be used to compare tolerance rankings BETWEEN flocks because the effect of the dose rate is influenced by:

Relative tolerance = Increase in amount of toxin required to induce liver damage.

Rules for F.E.Certification

  1. A uniform testing standard will be maintained such as currently being used by Ramguard.
  2. Certificate to be used as a GUIDE to the level of FE tolerance in a flock.
  3. Where an FE tested ram is sold, his FE test records must accompany the sale.
  4. The certificate will not be issued if the applicant uses misleading advertising or brings the certificate into disrepute.
  5. A monitoring committee to be set up to maintain standards, consisting of a representative from Romney, Group Breeding Romney, Coopworth, Ramguard and Stud Stock.
  6. Cost of marketing the FE Certificate to be borne by the breeders.
  7. Certificate to be a signed declaration that the recipient agrees to abide by the rules.
